By Darren Stones

Welcome to Darren Stones' Long Paddock website. This website is designed to showcase the travel photography and journalism works undertaken along the Long Paddock touring route in New South Wales, Australia by Australian journalist and photographer, Darren Stones. Images which appear on this site can be purchased as print products, and can also be licensed.

The Long Paddock is a touring route which begins at Moama - adjacent the iconic Murray River - and travels north to Wilcannia in New South Wales, Australia. It follows the the historic Cobb Highway, which for most part is bitumen, however a lengthy dirt section stretches between Ivanhoe and Wilcannia.

By travelling along the Long Paddock, you'll see cattle droving, flocks of corellas and cockatoos, interpretive signs, sculptures and spectacular sunsets.

The town of Hay has a popular tourist attraction - Shear Outback, which honours Australian shearers who have put their time and skills back into the shearing industry. Shear Outback also has live shearing shows with a commentary and informative indoor displays showcasing the history of shearing in Australia.

Situated on the banks of the Edward River, Deniliquin is the home of the world's largest annual ute muster. A town with superb gardens, Deniliquin is a superb place to explore for a few days.
